Disclaimer/Claimer: I do not own nor am I affiliated with Jericho or CBS or any of the other PTB in relation to the show (although if anybody has a Major Beck just kickin' around with nothing to do...send him my way!). No infringement is intended. I'm just taking the characters out to play, and will do my best to show them a very, VERY good time. ;)
A/N1: Words in red are Beck's thoughts as he's writing; not what was actually sent.

I got your letter today. To say it was a surprise would be an understatement. You've never struck me as the letter-writing type – you're more the man of action, with little time or patience for putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. I expected you to track me down in some back alley somewhere rather than write me a letter.
I'm glad to know you're not going to hold a grudge, and that you're willing to work with me against the common enemy. I have no illusions that all is forgiven, and I'm sure there will eventually be a reckoning – perhaps in that back alley I mentioned above. But it's a comfort to know that if I'm ordered back to Jericho, I won't have to worry that I'll be refused entry to the town - or run out of town on a rail.
I'm not sure who I need to thank for your willingness to work with me; whoever it is, let them know I am truly thankful. If you've come to this decision on your own, then I'm even more impressed.
We're going to need to work together in order to win this thing, and we need men like you and Hawkins – the heroes – to keep us going. Your flight to Texas is already the stuff of legend, and it will only gain more stature as the War goes on.
I'm glad we're on the same side. I've learned just how formidable an opponent you can be.
Keep Jericho – and all her inhabitants – safe.
