Jake -

I got your letter today. To say it was a surprise would be an understatement. You've never struck me as the letter-writing type – you're more the man of action, with little time or patience for putting pen to paper or fingers to keyboard. I expected you to track me down in some back alley somewhere rather than write me a letter.

I'm glad to know you're not going to hold a grudge, and that you're willing to work with me against the common enemy. I have no illusions that all is forgiven, and I'm sure there will eventually be a reckoning – perhaps in that back alley I mentioned above. But it's a comfort to know that if I'm ordered back to Jericho, I won't have to worry that I'll be refused entry to the town - or run out of town on a rail.

I'm not sure who I need to thank for your willingness to work with me; whoever it is, let them know I am truly thankful. If you've come to this decision on your own, then I'm even more impressed.

We're going to need to work together in order to win this thing, and we need men like you and Hawkins – the heroes – to keep us going. Your flight to Texas is already the stuff of legend, and it will only gain more stature as the War goes on.

I'm glad we're on the same side. I've learned just how formidable an opponent you can be.

Keep Jericho – and all her inhabitants – safe.

Beck

I was so excited to see all these letters posted. You've been busy with everything you've posted over the past few days. You're making me feel guilty! (I hope to have the next chapter of Redemption posted within a day or so.)

I definitely agree with this!! Could you imagine Jake as a cubicle dweller in some corporation! That would be a scary sight!

Too bad Beck couldn't have figured that out earlier!

Great letter. It made me wish that I could have seen Jake's letter that prompted this response. (Hint - Potential plot bunny!!)

Oh, lordy - I'm fighting SO HARD not to write the scenes/letters in between Beck's letters...it's hurting my head!!

Whoops - hit post too soon.

If someone else would like to take a shot at it, they're more than welcome to do so.

This one felt like Beck was jabbing at Jake a little about how head strong he can be and how he can sometimes not think things through enough ;)

I've already said that I'd love to see the stories in between. I almost prefer that you don't post anything though. It gives us readers a story of our own to write sort of an interactive story. :)

This is such an awesome concept. I don't know if I've said that yet.
